Saw a large flock of wild turkeys on the East side of Highway 101 this morning. They are not such a rare sight on the Central Coast, but, this morning was special.
The toms were all excited and had their tail feathers spread. The slanting early morning sun backlighted the fan and created a stained glass of their feathers. Quill tips were a brilliant blue/white against the toms’ umber bodies.
You can’t tell me that the boys didn’t know exactly where the sun was and how to best present themselves to the ladies. They certainly knew how to get the girls’ attention!
